I find it great to experiment & try new recipes. Other ingredients include a box of cornmeal (she uses the Jiffy corn muffins mix), two eggs, some milk, a dash of 'fancy sugar' and salt. Whisk eggs, milk, butter, sugar, onion, basil and salt and pepper together in bowl. Holiday's were parades of food of all kinds, from main dishes to desserts, but mostly I remember Gram's traditional Italian dishes around the Holiday's surrounded by all of our family. You may use a microwave or double boiler to do this. Then add a cup of sour cream to the same bowl and whisk until smooth and homogeneous. I grew up on all the traditional Italian meals from my Grandmother's kitchen. Grease your 1,5-2 quart baking dish with oil or melted butter. Pour the mixture into a 1 ½- or 2-quart pan that has been sprayed with nonstick cooking spray or greased with butter. Pour mixture into the greased baking dish. In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients including the cheese (if you are adding it.) Mix to combine. Born & raised in Northern NJ and now live in the NJ suburbs of New York City. Stir together all of the ingredients in a large mixing bowl until completely combined. Grease an 8 x 8 baking dish with nonstick spray.
